Bath Oils, Essential Oils and more

Bath Oils, Essential Oils and more

So last week I undoubtedly wowed and amazed you all with the wonders of bath oils, essential oils, and Aromatherapy Associates. Hopefully, you learned thing or two about how to make your bath experiences a little more indulgent, and something that benefits you both physically and mentally.

This week I want to write a little mini blog post that explores this avenue a little further, talking about a few more things you can use to help make your bath (or shower) the crowning point of your day.

Hopefully you’ve got your oils all ready, so creating the perfect ambience is something you don't have to worry about.

Buuuut, if you really want to ramp things up to 11 and float in luscious aromas, there's nothing better than lighting a few candles. Undoubtedly this will come to no surprise. Candles aren't exactly a big industry secret. But have you heard of Primsomologie’s Indigo Interlude Massage Candle?

Lighting it will produce indulgent aromas from the wild mango butter and coconut oil contained within the natural soybean and beeswax candle. Then the melted wax can be used as a massage oil. Helping to soothe aching muscles and nourish tired skin.

Once you're submerged in the tantalizing waters of the bath, more often than not, you are just going to want to switch off and let the bath oils do their thing. Which is great. Nothing like a soak where you just sit back and let the oils do the work.

Sometimes though it’s worth putting in a bit of extra effort to some extra TLC from your you time in the bath. Including some quality creams, gels and washes can really help you to cleanse yourself of free radicals and impurities and revitalise your appearance.

Prismologie’s white foaming cream is enriched with botanical extracts, bamboo water and micro diamond crystals to help purify and cleanse the skin, whilst also increasing its protection from impurities.

Elemental Herbology Body Wash is brimming with Aloe Vera, Neroli, and Rose Damask. These three work together to flood the skin with a wonderful hydrating action, keeping it smooth and supple.

Rahua Rainforest Grown Shower Gel is rich with Omega 3, Superfood ingredients and antioxidants, cleanse the skin and help maintain a healthy moisture balance, as well as lessen fatigue in your muscles.

Mix and match these products with your chosen bath oil to all but complete your spa experience at home.

There's just one more thing…

Now you’ve invested in some extra lovely products to nourish your skin and give you a real lift, you’ll want to make sure you’re using them properly. No, I'm not just talking about following the instructions. You need the right tools to make sure you're working up a proper lather, reaching those hard to reach places, and exfoliating what need to be exfoliated.

Hydrea’s Body Brush, Bath Scrunchie, and Natural Premium Honeycomb Sponge can each help you to make sure every part of the body is in reach, create a rich lather with your chosen products, and provide different levels of exfoliating power, to achieve a thorough clean.

All of these will really help to get the most out of the extra effort you choose to put into your cleansing ritual and have you feeling like a new woman once you leave the rejuvenating waters of the bath.

Growing a beard but not sure what specific look you wanna go for? Don’t worry man, I got your back. Let's take a look at some of my personal favourite hairy looks from pop culture and the tools you’ll need to achieve them.

WARNING! This blog will require some audience participation as I'm unable to upload pictures of these people because of copyright laws. Do a quick google for a bit o visual inspiration.

Ron Swanson

He may want to spend all his time by himself, in a cabin in the woods, drinking whisky and building canoes. But that’s why we love him. Ron Swanson. A man amongst men.

For those not familiar, Ron Swanson is a character from Parks and Rec. One of the best sitcoms to come out of America for a long time. In many ways, he’s a very typical man. Strong and rugged. Good with his hands. Likes his steaks rare. But he’s also very accepting of others, with a very live and let live/just leave me alone attitude. A lovable curmudgeon.

Whilst shown to be capable of growing one hell of a beard, his signature style is a moustache that's trim, tidy, and all natural.

As he’s strictly an upper lip sort of man, you’ll need something to keep your chin and cheeks as naked as the day you were born.

This Cut throat razor set from Antiga Barbearia gives you everything you need to achieve this, in a classic Ron Swanson style. You could just as easily go for a more modern razor set, but Swanson is a man stuck in his ways and does not integrate well into modern culture. Plus, cut throat razors are a really good way of getting a nice clean shave.

Keeping the tache trim and proper will require a pair of scissors, brush, and some wax to make sure it remains and trim and tidy as possible, all day every day.

Pirlo

Who wants to bend it like Beckham when you can punt it like Pirlo. Sure, he may have spent much of his career as a swashbuckling number 10 at AC Milan, but it was the last few years of his prime at Juventus that really captured my heart. Taking a more reserved deeper role, dictating the play with long balls forward, and growing a beard that really complimented his image as the wise man of football.

If you don’t follow football, Pirlo is a footballer who got better with age. Like everyone hopes their looks will. He also has a beard that is thick, full, and glorious.

Like with Swanson, this style requires you to be strict with your regime. Maybe not quite as much, but you can’t afford to be slacking. The first thing you’ll need is a good beard oil.

This Apothecary 87 beard oil will help you to condition the beard, Keeping it easy to manage. Well conditioned beard means a tidy beard. It’ll also promote beard growth to keep it looking thicker and fuller. A thick and full beard is a Pirlo beard.

Lastly, a Dr. Dittmar Duo Brush & Comb Beard Set will help you to keep it all under control. The brush first to get it all the hair in line, then the comb for dealing with the finer details.

Gandalf

One of five mighty Istar. Servants of the Valar and by extension The All High, Eru Iluvatar. Sent to Arda to help the creatures of Eru’s creation defeat the corrupt Valar, Sauron. The most powerful of all the wizards and the one to play the biggest role in the War of the Ring, and the shaping of the Fourth Age. The Age of Men.

The main beardy bloke from The Lord of the Rings. And what a beard it is. As long as it is dignified, but still containing a bit of unkempt style. A little edge, as opposed to Saruman’s straighter, softer beard. But he was a bit of a bad bastard so enough of him.

The most important thing you’ll need for this look, you can’t buy. There are a few things that may help the process a little but ultimately it comes down to this one thing. Patience. And lots of it.

Beyond that….

Captain Fawcett's Wild Boar Bristle Beard Brush will work great to help keep it maintained and tangle free. We not suggesting you go to the same lengths with brushing as you would with Swanson or Pirlo. What’s great about this look is it's a little more rough and tumble. But if you just leave it as it gonna get tangled and full of knots. Even the wildest of wild men agree that that will be really uncomfortable and all round a bit shit looking.

Captain Fawcett's Beer’d shampoo will also help keep it from getting to tough, making brushing easier, and stopping it from getting really uncomfortable. Having an uncomfortable beard makes sticking with growing one an absolute nightmare.

Bigfoot

Want to go all out in your quest for hairy perfection. I hear you. And god dammit I respect you. Few men have ever aimed for such an animalistic look and even fewer actually came anywhere close to achieving it.

Unfortunately, there is little help I can give you in this area. You’ll have to follow your own path young Padawan. But whatever you do, commit.

Go full cast away. Make Bear Grylls look like Eamonn Holmes. Does a bear shit in the woods? Not sure, but you definitely will if you’re serious about this look.
